Speaker 5: Well, thank you so much for just spoiling us this week and be able to be a part of your mission's conference this week and uh, we just we just love it, just love driving you back and forth and the people with be able to be with families and friends and all of that. And can I say this in my language? My maraming salaam with that means thank you very much. And I just want to thank you so much. All right. Let's go ahead and open our Bibles to First Skiing's chapter number 17. This morning I had my my my sermon earlier printed out, but it seems that the Lord is shifting a little bit different this morning. And I i-, it's it's not easy when the Lord say something to you earlier and he will change it right away. But I preach this before, but I felt like the Lord wants us to hear this this morning. Our first stop there. No.17 verses one to seven should we stand up for the reading of the word of God? If you're able this morning to do that? We'd like to invite you to stand to read that first shout number 17. The Bible says in verse number one and Elijah that this by who was the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab as the Lord God of Israel. Live it before whom I stand there shall not be do or rain this year. But according to my word, and the word of the Lord came to him saying, Get the hands and turn these words and hide those held by the chariot that is before Jordan. And it shall be that thou shall drink of the brook and it shall have. And I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. So he went and did, according to the word of the Lord, or he went and walked by the brook chariot that is, before Jordan and the Raven brought him bread and flesh in the morning and bread and flesh in the evening. And he drank of the brook and it came to pass after a while that the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land. It's want to approach the you this morning. What what would you do if you're serving alone? With God, what do you do? What are you going to do or what is God going to do? When you're serving alone. For God, let's pray our heavenly father, Lord, just want to thank you so much. This. They that again, we have been reminded about the cross, we have been reminded about the sacrifice, we have been reminded about the love of Jesus Christ that gave us eternal life that will never be taken away from us. And thank you, Lord, for the assurance that when a when a saints die, that he would directly go to heaven. And I thank you Lord, for this. A wonderful day. Thank you for your word. Thank you, Lord, that that we could come together again to be fed by by your word. And I pray that the Holy Spirit of God do the work of convicting of challenging and changing into the image of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you so much again for this morning. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen. Thank you so much for your attention. This morning isn't really obvious that the world that we're living in is a dark world. I think that you all could agree with me that in the days that we're living in and we could echo whatever Paul said to Timothy that we're living in a perilous time, don't we agree with that this morning? And we really understand that everything that that Paul had written there as as far as the behavior, as far as the culture is concerned, as far as how we treat the church, the church nowadays is is basically what we say that we're living in a dark, dark world and we can go back to the to the to the place where Elijah was. And he himself also would say that he was he was living in a really dark world and knowing that that the portion of of the scripture here, knowing whom the Elijah was dealing with at that time in the northern kingdom, that the the current king at this time was Ahab. And Ahab has turned his back back from God and not really realizing what he is doing and understand that what what is happening then is similar is what is really happening now in our world. And one or one thing that we're thankful for is God, it's not done yet. And I think the Lord that God still say people and Christ is still saving saving people. The Bible says for whosoever believe it on him should never perish but have everlasting life. And I thank the Lord that the the same message that that's been preached before is still effective today. And the Bible says here that we see a man named Elijah who was through being in a in a in a in a place where where he seems to be the the Lord God himself is being eliminated from the picture. Understand that with Jezebel and Ahab raining in the northern kingdom, they're starting killing those people that follows God. Understand that Jezebel was what's known by a of a prophet killer to killed a lot of prophets of God. If you would read your Bible and understand what what is going on here and now, we see that Ahab himself. The Bible tells to see you in chapter number 16, verse number 30 and Ahab. This is the sign of Andre the Evil in the sign of the Lord. Above all. It means that he was a lot worse than his dad. It means that he was a lot worse than the first kid that rebelled against God, Jarrod Bowen. It seems a lot worse than the king. The rain beforehand about this, above all that were before him and the stand that that the the future there in northern kingdom is not looking pretty good. That is going to judge them guys going to do something that would shake them up a little bit. And God sent this man, Elijah, whom we see that is going to be alone serving the Lord. Now let's look at the message of Elijah here really quickly. The Bible says here and Elijah that this bite who was the inhabitants of Juliet? Now the word bitch, this British artist means dweller. When we say dwellers like no place would just, you know, this dwelling here and dwelling there, like what we can say, an ordinary man that's just doing his ordinary stuff and eating amazing. When God called Paula Sermon called missionary and pastor, they're just doing their ordinary stuff. Like maybe, perhaps Gideon was supposed to just ordinary man tilling the land. Therefore, his family and the lord said, We're I'm going to call you to set your people free man and understand that when, when, when, when Peter and Andrew were were just doing their ordinary business fishing business there. And when Jesus said, Follow me and I will make you official, man, until you don't have to be talented to be called by God, you don't have to be wealthy to be called by God. We all you to do is just do the ordinary thing and be faithful what you're doing right now and God could call you. And the Bible says here that he is an inhabitants of you. Yet no one you studied Gill yet inhabit the the the the the people whom he was. He was the people whom he belonged. They're not really famous people. I mean, they're not like Judah or the other tribe there, but they're not really famous people. But I can tell you this God can use an ordinary man to do an extraordinary work and thank the Lord for that. And the Bible says here the Bible says here the US, this a short message, but it's a very powerful message here. The Bible says here, Elijah spoke and said As the Lord God of Israel live it, I just want to stay right there really quickly and remind, remind all of us. Maybe remind also, Ahab, here is something that is very important. Remember the God that called the twelve? Was the living God? Remember the one that that that that that that remember the God that called this this tries or is the living god above us is here. It's a reminder to Ahab that the God that he turned his back from. Is the living God and the God that he's serving right now is a dead God? Remember, Bale is a dead God. He has eyes, can see. He has is that can't hear. He has has the camera touch or handle. He has a feed that can't walk and tell you this. He is a dead god. He can't do anything. And they worship Bale as if he would do a lot of things for them. And Bale is one of the they call the god of the the nature, the god of fertilization. And if they need something up for their crops or for the for, for having a good, a good, the agri business there, they would pray to him and he would send them rain and all of that, and they will do that. I tell you this, if you pray to little little God, it's not going to do anything. As I was born and raised as a cattle young boy and we used to do that, you know, I was taught how to to get a handkerchief. And every time they would have this procession there in there in our area, they would have Mary, a really tall idol, and they would spray them with perfume and whatnot. And we will have the that this handkerchief and they we will we will, you know, we will put it on her feet, on her face. And they said that this handkerchief is blessed so that if you have a tummy ache, you could just put the handkerchief in your stomach and it will be healed and tell you that that is that is not true. Amen. This take pit the best of all, and you'll be OK. I'm. But I got to tell you this. The God that that the God that Eli just serve is the living God. He's alive then and he's still alive today. Amen. I'm glad that when we come to church this morning that we come here to serve the living god, amen. Though our fate is never in vain, though, we can come here and we can feel expressing that we could. We could be changed in this image, and the Bible says that the Lord God of Israel live it before whom I stand. By the way, the principle here is not about Elijah. It's about the God whom he represent a man. He was authorized to do that. And I just, you know, just couldn't imagine how God has allowed Elijah to be in a place where he's at right now because, you know, you have to go through a lot of guards, a lot of, you know, obstacle to be able to get into the kingdom knowing that this this king is a terror king, and we know that that God has allowed to do that. And he he went there with the authority of God, and he helped proclaim the judgment of God to them. It is just just something that we don't we don't want to hear it. The more I hear the hear this world would like to hear the judgment of God. They always think God is all loving, and I thank God for a loving God event. I thank God that he's a gracious God, but he's also one of his characters is the God of trust or justice, and he he like the judge just to show them that they're going so far away from him. And the Bible says here that there will be no b not b do not rain this year, but, according to my word, understand that it's going to take a lot of things. It's going to affect about I can affect the livelihood, the agri business there, the the the the livestock and even the people having no rain for three and a half years. And notice this, but according to my word, Elijah will be the one to be coming back to this place to proclaim to Ahab that the rain will be coming back to them. And as we look at the message she'll be like as we look at this, this this message as he proclaim it to Ahab. Could you imagine? He did not get applauded by. He didn't say Amen, brother Elijah, I like the message. I don't think so. Ahab probably was very angry at him. I don't know, the Bible says here that he only proclaimed the message to Ahab, but I would say that Jesse Bob was probably setting by him and he they probably were not happy about what they heard. But I can tell you this that when you serve God alone and here we are, Elijah is serving God alone in this, in this dark, dark time. God, no one we see here that God is going to give him what we call his instruction verse number two, the Bible says, and the word of the Lord and the word of the Lord came to him saying, Aren't you thankful for the word of God this morning? Are you thankful for the availability of the six to six books of your Bible that's already printed to you? You don't have to worry about it. Just buy it a man or have somebody give it to you. And I thank the Lord for his instruction. His instruction is perfect. His instruction is it's a purest. Instruction is preserve. It's just action is inspired and the Bible is here. And the word of the Lord came to him saying, Now this is the instruction that God had given him. The Bible gave it to Elijah. The Bible says, Get the hands and turn this word and hide thyself. Enter and thyself by the Brook Church that is before dawn then and we understand here that instruction is very, very specific. The instruction here is very, very brief. And. And can I tell you this? You can add or subtract from the instruction of the word of God. Whatever God says here, it's here. There is no right for one time. There's a Mormon guy. You know, I told you this last time I preach, I came and he said, Well, beside King James Bible, we still have the Book of Mormon. You know, I told our people, I said, Well, if they give you a Mormon Bible, when you start to cook something, do you know you start a fire with it, a man and gives people their star firewood, which, you know, to start a fire, you need to have some sort of paper or whatever. I said if if the Jehovah witness give you a Bible, that's going to start a fire. Hey, man, I think I thank the Lord for his word. I think the Lord makes this available. One time I was ours, and it's all about instruction here. One time I was working at a a place here in Tulsa when I was before I went to Bible College. Even during Bible College, I was working at this lighting store there in Tulsa. And you know, when you get used to putting fans together and all this stuff that they that they have there, you just pretty much be confident of what you do and you don't even really realize that you don't need the instruction anymore. Do you realize whenever you open a box or something like that or or maybe a box fan, you realize when you open it? The instruction is always on the top. It never was on the bottom. Why, unless you open the box upside down, you know, whenever whenever a lady asks me, you know, it's like before I buy this, I buy this fan, I would like to see it running first. I say, All right, that's fine. So I put it together, you know, I saw the inside open the box that I tossed this instruction like somewhere and. And I was wondering. What I didn't tell her this, I said I was wondering why this like missing screw or something like that? So why didn't tell her that I've made it? Sure, it looked good. But when I started to turn on the fan and let her see it, it's to bubble. And it's making all this crazy noises. And I said, well, there's something is wrong there. I forgot to read the instruction. And sometimes that really happens to all of us that we something when when we serve God alone, we felt like I could do this by myself. Now, knowing that you need God instruction and in is specific, the Bible says in the Bible said here, and give the hints and turn these word and hide thyself. Why in the world does Elijah need to hide himself with very obvious. They're coming up to him. A man is jealous. His Jezebel, he she hates the prophets of God. She hates the messages of God. And she wants to kill him and tell you this. That be that Elijah could easily hide himself by himself. Imani could have, Joe said, like, Oh, I'm going to go hide somewhere, and that's where I want to be. But then I tell you, this one guy hates you. It's the most, safest place on Earth. He is our refuge man is our Hightower. The Bible says that this is the hardest hit by the brutal terrorist that is before dawn. To not realize this, this is this is a three and a half year drought. Drought. No water you need. You need to be in a place where there's a lot of water. Now, it would make more sense if Elijah could have hidden himself by the Jordan River. If I were you, I would be by the Jordan River. Have my pitching pole. You guys don't like this. No. Babel to supply my maid by the river of Jordan, my why in the world that have brought him to the brink tell me that it's limited. With the water supply, I to tell you this. We don't know what God's mind all the. God always knows what's best for us. And the Bible says here that the Bible says if the Bible tells us that Elijah was told by God to hide themselves by the Brook Church, that is before Jordan, understand this, that when we are serving alone, we need the word of God. We need the instruction of God. Now, the burst continues on and says that that when was serving alone, we also need the promises of God. Bible says here and it shall be there, shall drink of the brook going to tell you this. The words shall you is a good word. Every every time when God say, shall you always do it, a man, when he said, I shall do it. Now remember whenever, whenever we had the world to there in the Philippines, according to the history, Arthur was helping the Philippines and all that. And for some reason, the Japanese had invaded the Philippines. They were able to do to overcome. Corregidor wants to overcome great good, though you will be able to to overcome the whole Philippines and whenever whenever the Japanese have have gotten that the place inquiry good lord. And then MacArthur thought that it's not going to be a winning thing. So he went to to Australia to just, you know, try to figure out how is it going to win the war? And it's what he said. I shall return. You know, sometimes when we say, I shall inhuman it with us being human, being a parent or or someone, we we sometimes break this promise promises, don't we? And when, when, when that say shall. It always comes to pass, those are and it shall be the thou shall drink of the brook. And I have commanded the ravens to feed the shore and the Bible says for a whosoever shall call upon, the name of the Lord shall be saved. And I thank the Lord that when I trusted Christ, I got same. And I'm sure that you did as well know there's a lot of a lot of ways that you know. And whenever we deal with people there in the Philippines, they think they lose. They could lose their salvation. And I feel sorry for them and they will be saved the day tomorrow. You might not be safe tomorrow one, you know, and I thank the Lord when they say, shall it always come to pass? And when we when we serve God, we could always hold on his promises. And that promise is is true, and their promises is always sure that when they lied to a serving one, when their lives are heard, the promises of God, I bet you this, he said. I'm going to just go ahead and and hold on to that promise that God has has to get has told me, and it shall be that there shall be the brook and I have commanded the ravens to feed the ravens. The first time I saw Arabians, when I went to Washington state while I was going with Jonathan Skene, he he brought me there. I thought Robbins was like the same thing, same thing as that little bitty blackbird that eats your french fries whenever it falls down. Rabbit has. It's bigger. It's bigger than that. You know, they they eat that. They call it scavengers. They they eat dirty stuff, you know, whatever. And God is going to use the ribbons to feed him there. And if I were Elijah, I would say, Lord, wait a minute, Lord, can we just. And we just, you know, eliminate the Ravens and replace it with ego? It's beer season. You know, Eagle could just get like a dollar or something like that and bring it to you, like, Hey, we're going to have a stew tonight. You know, I can't tell you this. God could use anything to provide your. And is this problem, is this right there and says when not serving alone, we need the word of God when we start being alone, we need his promises and I thank the Lord for the promises of God in the Bible and the Bible says here, when we are serving alone, this is what we need to do. We need to obey Bibles this year. So he went and did, according to the word of the Lord, where he went and dwelled by the brook Chad. That is before dawn that, you know, sometimes this is this is the hardest part of serving God is to obey him. Don't you agree? And what result, we're so excited, you know him what the pastor stood up for when we read our Bible, we get excited about the destruction, the Lord. We just we just think about the word of God and how precious it is. And we also think about the promises that he that he has for us. And then we just thank the Lord for the surety of the promises that that he has for us. But when the Lord says, Well, I want you to go and do something for me. Well, well, let me play about that. Let me let me let me have a counselor for you. Let me ask my pastor to cancel me. But you know, the Bible says here that that Elijah did not. Complaint. Or he did it ask question. Why God is going to, you know, he didn't ask a question that we see the Bible says so, he went. I like that you went. And according to the word of the Lord. Is something there's something that reminded me when I was studying, this is a man named Philip. You remember him last Thursday that when when the angel told Philip to arise and go to the way the desert there and the Bible says that he went? And I like that he responded, like, you didn't question the of the whoa, wait a minute angel, do you do you realize that this is a desert? It's dead. There's nothing only cactuses live there, you know all of that. But he didn't. He just went and did what God wants him to do. And so he went and did. He did what God told him to do. You remember, remember Noah? When, when God, when? When God told him to build an ark, he did everything that God told him to do. And the Bible says and did, according to the word, enter the word of the Lord. So he went and dwelt unto the by the water that is before dawn that no one will leap one with serving alone. It's so important for us to understand that we must follow everything that God tells us to do. And if you do that. Verse number six, this is and the Ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning and impressed bread and flesh in the evening, and he drank of the brook. And I tell you this that when God, when God calls you and God, God calls me that he will never leave, you know, forsake you. And I said that I will, but my god shall supply all your needs according to his riches and glory. The Bible says here that when the when Elijah followed God in this really, really dark world, the Lord was able to provide everything that he needed. He was able to drink from the brook and he was able to eat. Twice a day. Big meal, if you would, because there's no lunch there.

Speaker 3: A man?

Speaker 5: Yes, brunch. And big data. And then what was it that the rebels brought brought him bread? I mean, this is a crisis. You understand there's a big crisis that is going on here. This drought is people are trying to do to provide for their needs to prepare for this judgment. But where in the world this rabies is getting this food? Well, commentary said that that that that every time Jesse Bill is not in the kitchen and how that big window open all this ravens come and get all the food from her kitchen. That may be possible, I don't know. Amen. But wherever this rabbit's getting their food, I think it comes from God himself. It says bread. You know, in the Philippines, we eat on this aisle. That means there's a hot roll in the morning. Nobody like to drink coffee in the morning. I'm sure you do. Yeah. You know you. Have you ever tried to dunk your coffee? Your role in the coffee in this is now a different culture. And it's. But we like to eat our role with a coffee.

Speaker 3: It's good.

Speaker 5: Well, let me take that back row with our instant coffee. Three in one. And we enjoy that. Well, I guess I guess I guess Elijah had a flat bread. A feed of bread. Well, come on, he said you. It's from the Middle East. You know, they don't do like the big. Whatever. Brad? And the rebels brought him bread and flesh in the morning. He's also a Jew. He doesn't eat bacon. Read your Bible, Leviticus, they don't eat bacon. They eat beef. Lamb, my. The first time I have lamb chops when I was in the Philippines, it was expensive, but I tried. It was good. I thought I was in heaven. We can't tell you this that could provide that food wherever you were, wherever that food is coming from. He could provide it. And if anything, I say this that can provide you your need. Unbeliever could provide you need as well. Sometimes there's like people that like randomly come to your house and like, I don't even know you, but here you know, when you're serving God. See what what God is doing is providing the things that Elijah need, not only for the morning but by the Bible, says in the evening, and he drank of the brook. I remember in the in when we had this trouble with, you know, we your mission, I had, you know, there's of course something fluctuate from this and all the way down there, and sometimes we just don't know what word the finance is coming from. And we just, you know, and then we we just started this church and all our brand new church, maybe about, you know, second, it's probably been past week for for almost two years there. And we had this this financial stuff that took place. And and, you know, we kind of shared to the the people there just, you know, pray for us, the Lord, provide and tell you this. The Lord provided from from his people. Those people are low income people that I mean, they don't provide you most of the time money they don't have that there was sometime novel you that's say, Hey, I have a big bag of sweet potato man. It's good, it's healthy for you. Oh my. Sometimes they provide the you know, my wife could say this, that we have so much bananas. You know, there's like 20 million kinds of bananas in the Philippines. They said this one and this one and this one. There are different kind of bananas there, and they will give us like a sign of a pastor, we know that the you that you like bananas. I love bananas. We fry them, we caramelize it with brown sugar. Having. I guess, no, it's boring and only have one banana here at Wal-Mart. And it's cheap at sixty nine cents a pound. Hallelujah. We get it for free there. And when we make we make ketchup out of bananas. Oh, you look, I should have bought some, but in the case I give you like a spoonful of it, like, Hey, let's have a banana ketchup experience instead of baloney. Yeah, but look before. Oh, yeah, yeah. Well, you guys all pass a tray of balloons and you'll have a prayer meeting with the man man man's prayer meeting and you would have a game. Who could finish a whole egg? For those that have said no, absolutely it's it's a it's a twenty three days old. Duck egg. And you would know what you know, what that means, that there's not an embryo inside my wife, my what? Just say bad stuff about my ballot. It doesn't have a father yet. But I still have this little baby ducks in that one, sometimes two. I have eaten to duck in one egg before. But. The Lord provides our needs. Well, I prayed that God will provide for you for your needs, OK, so you don't have to eat that. I can't tell you this, that when we serve God, he always. And it's always true. But when we serve God, also, bus numbers have been something that is probably true also to all of us to allege as well that there is testing that comes when we serve God. Vs. no. So when it comes to pass after a while that the dried up. Because there had been no rain. In the land, understand there is the judgment of God, you know, Elijah was not exempted from this judgment. And we know that eventually the brook will dry up eventually this there's the connection from from from Jordan to where he is. I mean, it's eventually going to dry up. And God is going to put him into a test. And testing is not to hurt us. But to help us. This thing is always something that we need to grow as a Christian. This is what we need to do to make that another step of a faith. I I tell you this that when we are tested by God. He's always available. Look on the next page, the next verse here and the word of the Lord. Came onto him. When we go through trials, God is not going to say, OK, you are your own good bye. No, it doesn't do that. You will say I'm still here, sign, I'm still going to be available for you. Why? Because I'm not done with you yet. Hey, man, I'm not done yet. Can I tell you as long as you're breathing this morning and you and you and you and you're good to go? God is not done with you yet, a man. And the Bible says here that when, when when he saw that the brook dried up, the Bible says here that the the word of the Lord came to him saying, Arise, it's time to move. And let's get the hint to serve, which belong at the side and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow, the woman there, to sustain the now. Wait a minute. Do you know what we're what Sidon is, where Sidon is? That's where everything started. The Bayelsa and all the things that they're dealing with in the northern kingdom is going to go where the central abaixo worshiping is. This word Jezebel came from. Why in the world God is taking him there? I guess we could conclude today that the reason why Elijah was commanded by God to go there is the show to all the I young people that the God of Israel is the living God. That the God of, say, D'audience, are that God? And understand here that when he stayed there, that he performed such great miracles for this woman. In that place, just one of the survivor. And I'd rather be surviving with God than myself. And can't tell you this. I thank the Lord for those people. That does serve God alone, and I'm glad that we are not alone as a church, and I thank the Lord whenever whenever I was going to church in the Philippines, I was going by myself. And it bothered me a little bit because, you know, I wish my mom, my dad could come and they would attend with me. And does this go to the church with me? And you know, it's really it's really sometimes portrayed, sometimes when you invite them, they wouldn't want to come. But my pastor said, here, it doesn't matter to them. When you serve alone, then, can you can I tell you this is said to serve him faithfully? That when you do that, when you serve in faithfully, then God is going to see that and maybe who knows, eventually you're your family, we're started to get say. I can tell you this. After 10 years. I saw my my my my mom could say. I saw my dad getting, say, my sister now is working there, working in that in Colorado. She's married to a pastor and my and my brother now is a song leader at our church. And I thank the Lord for a for a Sunday school lady that went to my village alone. And she goes there a lot of times, sometimes she gets she gets, you know, curse by my grandma and, you know, and she just go there alone to thank the Lord that she came there alone and thank the Lord, that she was faithful serving there. And because of that, I was that result. And I always tell I always I always share this, that when I go to heaven. And all of us probably would say, I want to see Jesus birth, and that's what I'm going to see first when I go see my savior. But the next thing that I want to see is my son is. One of those images, Lisa. Now I tell her, thank you for serving God faithfully. It doesn't matter if you are alone or you or someone else, but you were faithfully serving. All of us here are called by God to do his work. There's no exemption. Whether you're alone or with someone can tell you this, that God is always going to be there for us. And in the Philippines, where the only missionaries there, where we are at the island, the city of three hundred thousand people, the island is about a million people as a whole. But we never seen God. Well. It's always people. When God called you, if God call you this morning to do the impossible. Please don't say no. They say I want to be like what Elijah did. It doesn't matter how how dark the world is, that we're that way, America is pretty dark, don't you? The judge will be with me. It's crazy here. A lot of crazy stuff is happening here. I can't tell you this. God, this will use you to make the difference. God could still use a Elijah to make a difference. Somebody. And he did when Elijah went back. To where Ahab was to perform such a great, great, powerful miracle, so even more. That God is more powerful than the profits of bail. Only one man. So it's a great and mighty God. Thank you, Lord, that. You called your church. To serve you, whatever it takes. And thank you, Lord, that does not matter how angry the world. Towards you and what you do. You still have the power to. Say individuals. And give them eternal life. Thank you, Lou, for this church. Continually, consistently there, Lord. Doing. I pray, Lord. If the if this the only witness left here. In the world, I pray, Lord.
